As you can tell by my post title, I am beyond creativity at this moment. Really though, what do you title a post when it's a hodgepodge of the last couple months? So thats what you get, I guess. Here are some more pictures of the fun we've had!
Noah loves to play office, so I made him his own little computer out of a binder. He loved it.
On some days, after we take Noah to preschool, Clare and I will grab a little breakfast at McDonalds. She loves their 'Cancakes'. It's a special little thing we will do together on occasion, and she loves it.
For Thanksgiving this year we stayed in Boston and got together with some friends who were also sticking around. I was brave/crazy enough to sign up to bring the turkey. I won't ever do that again. The bird I got was from Whole Foods. It cost $100 and was 26lbs. It was incredibly huge! Not really a "first time cooking a turkey" kind of bird. I cooked it for over 8 hours and it still wasn't done. Got up at 4:30am to prep it and everything. It ended up working out ok, but definitely didn't go as smoothly as I'd hoped. I may try another one sometime, but it won't be this size, thats for sure!
But the best thing about Thanksgiving, besides the company, was the after dinner naps. Always a delight!
And now we have a few more pictures from the month…sorry for all the randomness!
I loved this picture of the kids snoozing on the couch together! We love sleep at the Stockhoff home, if you can't tell. My kids will often ask to take naps or go to bed. It's wonderful (too bad they haven't always been that good of sleepers)!
One weekend while Andy was gone the kids and I made salt dough ornaments. You make the dough and then cut designs (or make some) out of cookie cutters. Then you bake the dough for about 3 hours on really low heat. Once they are hard you let them cool and can paint or decorate them. The kids love this activity. It was a hit!
I loved seeing them create these and watch how much joy it brought them to hang their own ornaments on the Christmas tree. It was priceless.
Clare caught a flu bug and was throwing up at 2:30am. We gave her a bath, put on movie while I cleaned the whole bathroom and tidied up. Needless to say, we both napped that day.
Last picture, we had a Primary program at church where all the kids got up in front of the congregation and sang all the songs they had learned throughout the year. Each child also had a part. Noah had practiced and practiced his part and had it all memorized, but got a little stage fright when he got up to the podium. He said it so everyone could hear, but he had his ears covered the entire time. It was too good. He also insisted on wearing these glasses, which are toys from home. He looks stellar. I love it. He definitely made us proud!
