The First of Many

Today, Melissa and I celebrate our 1-year Anniversary. The year has gone by quickly, between our time in Missouri, here in Kentucky, and then some visits out west. It really has been a great year, and I'm learning a lot about being married--like which towels are for decoration and which ones I should use to dry off my hands. That, and some other lessons, were learned the hard way, but I'm getting there.

One of the greatest aspects of marriage that I've discovered is that I really do love my wife more and more as I am with her more and more. She is my best friend and the person I want to spend time with most. Every day, as I'm pulling on to our street after work, I open the garage with the remote. She hears the garage door go up, so she opens the door in the garage that goes into the house--but just barely, and peeks out to make sure that it's me. When she sees me, she sticks her hand out and waves at me, and it makes me smile every time. Sounds silly I'm sure, but I guess those are the kinds of things that I really love and appreciate.

He Passed!

Last night when Andy and I got home from the temple, we found an anticipated letter from the Nevada State Board of Engineers. Back in April Andy took the PE (Professional Engineer) exam, an 8 hour test covering Civil Engineering as well as other broad subjects. Needless to say he studied his tail off for that test, and I am happy to report that it all paid off! Here is a picture of the letter itself:
I have never seen Andy jump up and down like that in my life! He was so excited and I am so proud of him! Way to go Andstar, you are the best! <3

What would you do for the Dodgers?

When Andy and I got married, I knew he was a sports fan, but I don't think I realized what a BIG sports fan he was. You name it... Golf, Hockey, Soccer, Basketball, Football and especially Baseball (namely the Dodgers). Needless to say I was adopted into the Stockhoff Family Dodgers Fan Club..and will go to any lengths, with Andy, to watch them play. I am a proud member, although I still have lots to learn. Last night Andy and I made the 2-plus hour trip up to Cincinnati to watch the Dodgers play the Reds. We had such a great time in downtown Cincinnati and hope to go back to explore. Unfortunately I forgot the camera (I know, how could I??). But here is one I took of Andy on my cell phone, and a couple other highlights that I enjoyed from the game!

Here are my top 5 Highlights

1) Ken Griffey Jr. was honored for hitting his 600th career home run!

2) Our Seats! We were about five rows up from the Dodgers dug out!! (here's a pic from my phone!)

3) Juan Pierre's catch at the wall in left field...Check it out HERE!

4) The drunk Dodgers fan that got escorted out of the game in handcuffs for flipping people off and starting a fight. I guess there has to be one idiot at every game, right?

5) Lastly, the final score. Dodgers ended a 5 game losing streak by winning the game 3 to 1!

I Can't Quite Explain it...

I have this thing for Chris Brown's music, strange, I know...but for some reason I just love it! This is his most recent release. Forever.
