Trip to Utah and Other Things

Well, we had a fun filled Memorial Day weekend! A lot has been happening the last week and I though I should share some pictures!

First off, last Friday my Mom and I babysat a little girl from the ward. I had to go to the doctor...so my mom decided to take Mary and Noah on a little walk. They looked so cute in the stroller and as you can see...Noah is about as big (if not bigger) than little 10 month old Mary! Noah will be 4 months on June 7th!

We also went down to Utah over the weekend to celebrate my cousin Jocelyn's wedding. We had such a great time with all our family and congratulate Jocelyn and Tony on getting married! The wedding was beautiful and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. Noah, Whitney and I decided to stay the whole weekend so we could visit Greg, Allice and Gus and so I could finally get my hair done!

Lastly...Andy is doing well. He is definitely keeping busy but still making time to call home, and we love to hear from him. He did tell me the other night that he has been woken up several times by loud explosions...as if that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy! But we are so grateful for his safety and know we are being looked out for. Here is a picture of him as he is flying in a helicopter down to his new location. Noah and I sure love him, and miss him!

What is That?

So lately Noah has been really interested in his hands. Staring at them that is. He is constantly holding up his right arm and staring at it. Can you say, easily occupied?

Andy Update

Thanks to all of you who have been asking about Andy. He is currently in Kabul for a few more days and then he will be heading about 25 miles South to a post called Shank. The Corps of Engineers isn't actually established in Shank yet and Andy will be in charge of getting their office there all set up and running. It seems like a pretty intimidating job, but I know that Andy will do so well. He also had the opportunity to attend some church meetings while he has been in Kabul. Its amazing where you can find the church, and we are so grateful that there are members over in Afghanistan. Andy was actually set apart as the Serviceman's group leader for the Shank post. I am so excited for him to be able to serve in the church while still deployed. He was told that there are a total of 9 members of the church in Shank, including himself. Here is a picture of Andy and a couple of others from the Branch in Kabul. Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers, we know they are making a difference for us.

On a side note, I have been trying to keep myself busy while I am here in Idaho. I am going to start dabbling in some sewing projects, as soon as I can get penciled into my moms busy schedule. She will have to practice a lot of patience in teaching me to sew, but I am confident that I am going to get it down. I have also been trying to decorate my room here at my parents house and decided that I would frame some more of Andy and my wedding pictures to hang up. I love the way our 10x10s turned out!

And lastly, I couldn't resist sharing this picture. Noah is usually very patient while I do my morning workout..this morning while swinging, I looked over and saw this, I guess watching me exercise isn't that exciting!

Getting Cuter Every Day!

Of course I am a proud mom, and all proud moms think that their kids are the cutest! I am no exception! I can't believe how cute Noah is, I think he just gets cuter every day. He loves to tell stories, loves primary songs and especially loves Old McDonald! I just can't get enough of him. Now if he would only sleep more at night.

This weekend we also celebrated my sister Whitney's Seminary Graduation. Congrats Whit! You are in the home stretch!

I'm Leavin On A Jet Plane

Well, it has taken me a couple of days to get up the courage to post. But a lot has happened since I last posted and it's definitely about time I update everyone on whats happening with the Stockhoffs! I hope you all enjoyed the little video of Noah laughing. He has become quite the character...I am having so much fun spending time with him and love seeing him grow (and by grow I mean GROW!). We had his 2 month appointment before we left KY and he weighed in at a whopping 17 lbs. He was actually 10 weeks at the time...but still, what a whopper! He LOVES to chew on his fingers, especially his thumb. I have to make a conscious effort to keep him from making a habit of it, but I have to admit, it's pretty darn cute. He poops out of his diaper at least once to twice a day and I recently had to move him into the size 3 diaper because the size 2 just wasn't cutting it! I can't believe how quickly time has gone, as of last Saturday Noah is 12 weeks old. I can only hope the next year moves as quickly!

A couple weekends ago Andy, Noah, my sister Whitney and I made a trip to Boise to visit my brother Nate and his family. Jayni, my niece, loved playing with Noah and singing him songs: 'Sing sweet nightingale, sing sweet nightingale, ahahahahaha'. He loved her lullabies! She insisted that she hold him although, as you can see in the pictures, he is almost her size. What cute cousins!

We also got to spend a little time touring Boise (and getting some tasty frozen yogurt) with Andy's good friend Justin. I can't wait til I can go back to Boise and eat some more blue cow. YUM!

Lastly, most of you know that last Friday, May 1st, Andy left to spend a week in Georgia before he heads out to Afghanistan. I can't even explain how difficult that day was for me, and for Andy. He will be serving with the US Corps of Engineers as a Project Engineer and I know he will do a great job. We miss him so much and think about him all the time, but thankfully we have been able to webcam a few times and I can't tell you how much that helps. We are doing well and can't wait for Andy to come home on his mid-tour leave. Thanks to all our friends and family for your love and prayers. Especially those who called or sent me messages over the weekend, even if I didn't respond, I appreciate it very much! We couldn't do this without you.
