Labor Day Fun at Wingaersheek Beach

For Labor day we decided to spend the morning/early afternoon at great beach here in MA called  Wingaersheek Beach (I still have no idea how to pronounce that).  I was  alittle wary at first because it was so cloudy, but the marine layer burned off and it turned into a beautiful day!

The guys played frisbee and football.  Noah played baseball with Daddy and friends.  Clare FINALLY sat and played in the sand (she was terrified of it).  Mom got a farmers tan and we had fun exploring the rocks and tide pools.  It was a great day, with even better company.

Thanks to my friend Melinda for snapping these photos of the kids and I down by the water.  We got a little wet, and you can see this is before the clouds parted, but we still had a good time!

Once the sun came out it became SO beautiful.  Warm with a little breeze and the kids had a blast.  Clare spent a good part of the morning perched on our blanket eating snacks (because she has been a bottomless pit lately).  Toward the end of the day I sort of 'forced' her to sit in the sand and she ended up loving it after about 5 minutes.  Throwing it everywhere and even tasting it (yuck)!

Of course the sun and sand wore everyone out...

And poor Noah even had some sort of allergic reaction.  I'm not sure if it was the sun, the sunscreen or the sand...but something made the poor guys eyes red and swollen.

The next morning he woke up and they were even worse....now, two days later, they are just starting to look normal again! Poor guy and his super sensitive skin!

We had a wonderful time though, and would love to go back and visit the beach again!  It's a wonderful way to spend a warm sunny day and the kids can run wild (as long as they don't get too close to the water :) We are so grateful for the friends we have made here already, and that we were able to spend this holiday with them!
