Hit The Road

This may be the last post I will be able to do for a week or so.  We have been very busy the last week and it's only getting worse.  There are a lot of exciting things that have happened though and I thought I would share...

First, and most exciting...Andy was promoted to Captain!  He flew to Kentucky last week to do some out-processing before we move, and to his surprise they promoted him while he was there.  We knew he was up for promotion, but weren't expecting it until July..so this was a pleasant surprise.  I am so proud of him!! He definitely deserves this promotion and I couldn't be happier.  I will be sure to post a picture when I have the chance!

Secondly, we got our family pictures taken!  We haven't been able to see them yet, but I can't wait to.  If you live in southeastern Idaho and are looking for a photographer you definitely need to look up Chantri.  She is super!  http://www.chantrikeelephotography.com/

Other exciting news, we finally purchased a new sofa!  We both wanted something with a little more sitting room and purchased this beauty...

Ours is a little darker in color, but I love it.  Needless to say I have spent A LOT of time buying fabric for pillows and even got fabric for curtains today.  Can't wait to get going.

How will I make all these pillows and curtains you ask?? For a belated birthday and mothers day gift Andy got me a sewing machine!  I have been using my mom's for the past year and wanted one of my own...I am excited to use it!

The move is upon us and we will be making the trek this week.  Andy left today and Noah and I will leave this week as well.  It is definitely a bitter sweet experience.  We will miss being with our family but are really looking forward to being together again.  Thanks to all of you for your encouraging words and support!  Next post I promise more pictures.

Until then!  Happy Memorial day and my special THANKS to all the men and women who serve our country.  Especially to my own sweet husband.

Don't Worry Friends...

I am alive and well. We are officially back from our trip to Utah and I have pictures to share (of course). I also got my hair cut...so there will be previews of that as well (this is me assuming you even care :). I promise I will get to it tomorrow- after we stand in line to get Noah the swine flu shot AND after I go see New Moon. I CAN'T WAIT! Stay tuned...

First Attempt...

This is my very first attempt at blogging...I am not exactly sure how it all works but I suppose I just write in this and then all my friends can read it :) hehehe Anyway, we are currently living in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Its actually really nice to be settled a little since we lived out of our suit cases for over a month on our honeymoon. Its really crazy to think that we have been married 2 months next week! Time sure flies by!
I told Andy we really need to do something for our 2 month anniversary, but I have a feeling I will be the one to plan it. Which I am OK with. We have really enjoyed our time here so far, except for the fact that I am having trouble finding a job. I never did like looking for a job, but I especially don't like looking when I can't find one. I applied for a job at one of the local High Schools for a Library Secretary position, but low and behold I call to check today and the position was filled this morning, no call or nothing. So we will just keep praying for opportunities and I am sure something will open up soon. Anyway, enough of my blabbing. We did go to STL almost two weeks ago to see a Saint Louis Cardinals game, who just happened to be playing the Dodgers, so of course Andy was in heaven. While we were there we took my little brother Mike and his companion (who are serving their missions in STL) to dinner at the Olive Garden. It has been almost exactly one year since I have seen him, and it was great to have him meet Andy for the first time. We also took at trip up to STL last weekend to go to the temple, we really enjoyed it and plan to make it a monthly thing. This week is almost over and next week is a short one because of Labor day ( we love vacations)! Bob is coming to visit us, which we are especially excited about. Andy and Bob are already planning to watch College Foot Ball Saturday in High Def. You think it would be Christmas morning they are so excited. ha. Until another time! See you!
