Boston Family Pictures

A good friend of mine offered to take some family pictures of us around Campus and I figured 'why not'!  The weather was freezing and the kids only lasted about 30 minutes (that was with bribery even), but I am so glad we got to capture some of our favorite places/buildings on campus.  It really is so beautiful here and I am so lucky to see these beautifully historic buildings every day!

Dinner Dazzle 2012

Every year HBS hosts a Christmas Ball called Holidazzle.  Dinner, dancing etc etc.  We had planned to go, but after hearing the cost ($125 per ticket) we decided to do a little something on our own.  With tickets, tux, dress and babysitters (at $20 an hour) we figured we could enjoy a really nice evening out with friends for a fraction of the cost.

We roped two of our other friends into joining us and may have started a new tradition of our own.  Here my friends, are some pictures from what we like to call Dinnerdazzle 2012!

Dinner was at one of Boston's highly rated steak houses, Smith and Wollensky's.  As you can see from the picture below, we had plenty of food and none of it disappointed!  I was so grateful to be able to spend the evening with our friends and enjoy the company of my husband (without kids).  

After dinner we headed over to the movie theater to see the Lincoln movie.  It was fantastic, but not a movie I would recommend watching late at night when you're feeling sleeping.  Although the movie had great energy, it didn't have a lot of action and unfortunately made the lot of us doze off on several occasions!

I was so happy with how Dinnerdazzle turned out, and hope to continue the tradition next year as well!

One of Noah's favorite things in the entire world, riding the cars at the mall. Simple pleasures my friends.

Noah has that evil look down!  This was the same day, at the park, and he came to me and said, "Mommy, I'm Upset!"  I don't even know why, but I believed him ;) 

We've made it a tradition to put our Christmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving.  This year we bought a $20 tree from Target and filled it with some of our favorite ornaments.   I love it's simplicity and am looking forward to spending this Christmas with my little family here in Boston. 

Usually I prefer to stay away from most shopping on Black Friday, but since we had some time we decided to take the train downtown and wander around a little.  The Boston Brass were out playing Christmas songs and listening to them made my entire day.  We loved it!  Noah would ask which each instrument was, and although he loved them all, the tuba seemed to be his favorite! 

This picture probably isn't unfamiliar to you who follow my blog regularly.  I take a lot of pictures of my kids sleeping.  I can't help it, they are so sweet!  Clare has been falling asleep randomly also, I don't complain though. 

Spent an afternoon playing at the park for a little while.  Although it was really chilly, that didn't keep the kids from having a good time!

Had a random power outage one evening, and because it gets dark so early these days we ended up sitting in the dark for a while.  The kids didn't seem to mind, and I was especially grateful I had charged the Ipad the day before.  We decided to keep in the spirit of things we would have a little picnic and movie when the power came on.  My kids eat this stuff up, and I love it.

Had some friends come play for a couple hours one morning.  We set up Noah's 'fort' and they went "camping" in it.  I provided them with snacks (as they insisted) of marshmallows, raisins, goldfish and fruit snacks.  All the essentials for this camping trip!

 Tonight we went to the deans house for the Christmas lighting.  The snacks were delish (in true Harvard fashion), the company was great and the lights were fun to see!  We even caroled a little and listened to others sing songs of the season.  Its no wonder this time of year is my favorite!

I had to include a couple of videos also.  The first one is a video that Andy's section made in honor of Veterans day.  It was such a sweet gesture and I know all the veterans in Andy's section were so grateful.  Noah, Clare and I made a little video ourselves to include in it...see for yourself :)
