I Love Mommy and Daddy but......

My parents sent us a little Halloween package last week that included this awesome shirt for Noah.  As promised I told my mom I would take some pictures of Noah wearing it.  You can also see that he is clutching a Halloween cup and a Pez dispenser, which he has yet to figure out how to use.  What you don't see?  All the suckers and Reese's peanut butter cups that I have to keep hidden so Noah won't eat them all (and trust me he would, if he even knew they were still around).   Thanks Mom and Dad!  (Don't worry, I already ate all the Reese's sticks, so we don't have to worry about him finding those :)

This weekend we are so excited to be going to visit some of our friends in Kansas!  I will definitely have lots of fun pictures to share from our little vacation (which we all really need)!  Until then, Happy Halloween to all of you.

Mid-Year Resolutions

Actually - it's really past mid-year,  more like end of the year.   Regardless, I have made a resolution.  This may or may not be the 100th time I have made this same resolution, but this time I am keeping to it.  Really.  And I have a secret weapon (which I borrowed freely from someone).  So what is the resolution you ask?

Meal Planning

Ok so maybe it's not a very exciting resolution...but it's one I have tried to master and have yet to.  The reason I am starting this now?  1) No better time to start than today, that's what I always say!  2) To make more healthy, planned and balanced meals for my family and 3) To save myself time and money by avoiding random trips to the grocery store every other day.  If I have a plan, I can stick to it.  If I feel like switching some of the days up, it doesn't matter, I already have what I need!  See...this plan is tried and true and I am going to make it work for me.

So here's my new secret weapon....tips from My Kitchen Cafe....she even gives you a simple spreadsheet that can help you plan your meals!  

I am sure many of you are a lot more successful at this than I am, so because I love tips and tricks...do you have any??? If you do, please share - heaven knows I can use all the help I can get....

I haven't done one of these in ages!  So when my sister-in-law Megan tagged me, you know I was excited.  Here goes...as if you wanted to know....

1-What is your favorite Christmas tradition?
*I have two.  One that Andy and I started, which is buying new ornaments every year and a Jorgensen family tradition of having Danish Aebleskivers for breakfast on Christmas morning.

2-What is your favorite way to relieve anger/frustration?
* Vent, read, sew or get out of the house!

3-Name 5 things that make you happy!
*My Beliefs, Family, Traveling, being outside, Sewing (and just to add an extra one...shopping!)

4-Describe your perfect day.
*My perfect day would be going anywhere with Andy and Noah.

5-If you could relive the best day of your life, what day would it be? I want details! :)
*There are many experiences that I would relive...The day Andy and I were sealed in the temple, they day we brought Noah home from the hospital, the day Andy came home from his deployment...just to name a few.

6. What is your worst experience as an employee?
*When I was 17 I worked at a Hallmark store.  A customer was angry because we wouldn't return a collectible item for her because she threw away the box (owner's policy)...anyway she called me the "B" word and my (much older) coworker told her she was right and that I was the one that was wrong.  Needless to say I never spoke to that coworker again.

7. What item can you never walk by in the grocery store without being seriously tempted to buy it?
* Strawberries or Grapes!  I will buy fresh fruit even when it's expensive.  It's a disease.

This is Noah at about 1 week old.  What a cute little guy!

Um yes, it's officially been almost another two weeks since I posted last!  I have been a delinquent blogger - partly because there hasn't been much to report and partly because the thought of sitting down and typing it all out seems a little boring.  Yet here I am, with something to say (for myself anyway) and if you enjoy it to well then that would be pretty awesome!

First of all,  this little fella (who is the cutest little fella around) is officially 20 months old today!! Or should I stop using months and say, he will be two in February?  Either way, he is growing and growing fast! One thing that never changes though is how adorable he is.  Would you dare to disagree??

Some of my favorite things about Noah:

He is so intelligent and observant

He is predictable

He sleeps like a champ

He makes me laugh

He is so friendly and loves to be around people

He cuddles on my shoulder when he is tired

I love his dance moves

He helps me unfold the laundry

He looks like his daddy (lucky kid!)

We have so much fun together and I am very lucky to be home with him every day.  I just love him.

A few other things worth of note:

Diary of a Whimpy Kid. 

Andy and I rented Diary of a Whimpy Kid last weekend.  Since it's really meant for kids, I wasn't expecting much.  Andy fell asleep for most of the movie but I can say there were a few parts that were super hilarious...this being one of them.

Yes I find that funny, and apologize if you don't share my humor. I laughed at that part, and occasionally find myself repeating the line, just for the fun of it.

WWII Veterans DinnerThis past week Andy and a friend from work have been escorting WWII veterans and their families around Fort Leonard Wood.  Andy has had such a wonderful experience getting to know these wonderful men and women - and last night they invited us to join them on their closing dinner social.   The company was amazing and so complimentary of Andy and his coworker.  We ate dinner in a cave (yes there is an actual restaurant here that is built in a cave).  Noah was the HIT of the show and passed around practically from table to table.  One lady bought him a beanie baby, another insisted on holding him while he cuddled on her shoulder.  He loved it, and as a happy mama, so did I. 

Hopefully I will have pictures to share soon and will post them when I get them.  All it all, it was one of the greatest experience I've had and I am grateful I was able to meet so many wonderful people. 

Lastly, but certainly not least General Conference

Last weekend we had the opportunity to watch the semiannual General Conference for the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  It was amazing (as usual) and we walked away with a wonderful resolve to be better and do better.  I am so grateful to know that there is a PROPHET on the earth today, who receives revelation for our day.   I had many favorite messages, but the one that struck me the most was on Gratitude by President Monson.  You can listen to it and all the messages HERE.
