Thank You for Being a Friend...

This morning, while driving to work I heard an interesting version of the hit song 'Thank You for Being a Friend'. Many of you may know this song from its premier on the hit show The Golden Girls (which I love by the way). Anyway...why fix something that isn't broke? You be the judge, which is better...the Golden Girls version, or the Andrew Gold version?

Week #8 - Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts.

This week I am grateful for this fine group of people. Without them, I'd be lost!

Sing Alongs.

Many of you know that from time to time I like to share some of the music I am really into...it has been a while since I shared my list of current faves and I know how much everyone loves to know. So if you like to work out...this first one's for you. Its clean, its up beat and boy is it fun to sing along to!

Miley Cyrus- "See you Again"
(unfortunately there isn't a video out for it yet, so here's the song off of YouTube)

A little love song for you romantics out there, Chris Brown makes it so believable! If you aren't moved by the song, at least you can appreciate Mr.Brown's unbelievable dancing skills. Allice, Can you teach me this stuff? I know. That would look silly.

This sweet song is called "With You"

I really enjoy music that you don't hear every day. This artist it one of those. Her name is Yael Naim...from Paris. This song is called "New Soul" Also, check out her website here!

Until the next round! Enjoy :)

Week #7 - The Cookies are Here!

I am not sure about you, but every year I look forward to what I like to call the "Girl Scout Season" -when all your neighborhood Girl Scouts come out to sell their cookies! (For some reason I always think of Troop Beverly Hills, sigh) Anyway this week, I am grateful for Girl Scout cookies! There is one for everyone to enjoy. Here are my favorites!

Rats With Shells

In my time in the great State of Missouri, I have noticed that when I walk through the grass sometimes, the ground feels very soft...as if it's collapsing under your feet. It's only a few inches, but it seems like someone or someTHING has been digging around. I've seen it in our yard and in many others'. Until recently, I had no idea what was causing it. Then, on Thursday night, Melissa and I were coming home from eating Sushi (it took over an hour for us to get our food, by the way), and as we pulled into the driveway, I caught the culprit red handed--or red...snouted, I guess. Yes, that's right, it was an armadillo, or as I affectionately refer to it: a rat with a shell. There he was, shamelessly indulging himself in our grass, or looking for who-knows-what underneath it. Frankly, I'm not quite sure what he was doing, but it doesn't matter. I caught him. I had a mind to get out of the car and kick him, but I thought his hard shell might hurt my foot. So instead, I just honked at him (I know, that'll teach him). He got away, but the most important thing is that I solved that mystery. And in order to deal with the continuing threat against our lawns, I am officially starting the Anti-Armadillo Vigilantes, or AAV's (commonly referred to as "double-A V's"). As of right now, we don't have much (a shovel, a fake M-16 Assault Rifle, a large MAG-Lite, and a fishing pole), but I tell you what we do have: heart. And rest assured, we won't stop until the lawns of Fort Leonard Wood are safe and these little rats with shells are no longer roaming our streets...or until we move to Kentucky this coming April...whichever comes first. You can count on our vigilance.

Andy

Its a Blizzard in Here!

I can tell you, I value my days off now more than I ever did before. Since I had the day off we decided to take advantage of it! Originally Andy and I were going to go to Saint Louis to have some fun, but since that plan didn't work out we decided to make some fun of our own. After our morning workout we decided we were going to go to lunch...Andy has been wanting to eat at the El Jimador for a while (its a small Mexican restaurant here in town). Don't worry that we ate our body weight in chips and salsa and I barely had room for any of my taco salad. Alas, I still ate way too much of it! Since we had originally planned on eating at the Cheesecake Factory in Saint Louis we decided that we would replace our cheesecake for another treat. DAIRY QUEEN BLIZZARDS! Maybe you should go get one too!

52 Weeks of Blessings

My good friend Emily shared this great idea on her blog. Every week, on Sunday, you post about something you have been blessed with in your life. Don't forget to post a picture too! Since I am several weeks behind...I am starting with this week...

Week #6

As I think about the things I have been blessed with, One thing certainly comes to mind before anything else...and in true fashion (b/c several of my friends started with this one too) I have to say what I am most grateful for is my Husband.

I won't get too cheesy, but Andy and I became best friends very quickly and I was sure he was the guy for me. He is the best at taking care of me and is one of the most ambitious people I know. I love him very much and am grateful for him every day of every week :)

Neglect.

I remember those days when I use to blog on a regular basis. Unfortunately Target has taken over the free time I had, and I just haven't been able to devote as much time and attention to our blog as I wish I could. So this is just a note to let all you bloggers out there know that I am alive and I will post a real good one, when I find the time :) Hope everyone is doing well and We love you!!

(Maybe I can get Andy to do some blogging while I am at work :)
