Thanksgiving - Boston 2012

This year we spent Thanksgiving close to home.  I am very grateful to be in a place where we have so many wonderful friends who are in a situation very similar to ours.  I am also grateful that we were able to spend the holiday with them.  That being said, I did miss being with family.  We really do have so much to be grateful for!

I did a pretty horrible job at taking pictures, so this is what you get!

This is our feast table (after the feast).  It looks pretty bare, but that's only because we devoured so much food.  It was all delicious, and I savored every bite.

The kids had little tables to color Thanksgiving pictures.  Noah and Clare loved it!

A friend made a pilgrim hat and we tried it on Clare.  It's a little big, but she would have made an adorable pilgrim!

I can't help but think about all the ways the Lord has blessed me and my family.  I am grateful for so many things, and truly believe that even in deepest trial, there is always something to be grateful for.

Here are just some of the things I am grateful for...
my beautiful family
my faith
a husband who loves me
my health
a warm and comfortable home (albeit small) to come home to
a beautiful place to live
date nights
good friends
kettle corn and frozen yogurt :)
music for every mood

And so so much more.  Hopefully you've found a long list of things to be grateful for this year, and if not I hope you can find at least one!

Pictures of The Week

This day we had been missing Andy a whole lot (his schedule has been jam packed), so we took a couple pictures (Noah and I above, Clare below) to send him and tell him we love him!  Don't mind Clare's dirty face!

Some of our dear friends brought over some cookies to thank Andy for his service on Veterans day.  So nice of them!

Clare has been obsessed with skirts lately.  She wants to put them over everything.  I am starting to see her opinions on clothing come out already.  She is definitely becoming a girly girl!

Fell asleep while sitting on mommy's lap.  This happens almost never!

Lately we have been reading in the book of Alma in the Book of Mormon.  One of the stories about Gideon and Nehor.  Noah loves to talk about them all the time.  I love that our family scripture study is starting to sink in!

Another of our friends brought over some home made Pad Thai (she is from Thailand).  It didn't take Andy and I long at all to gobble it up!

No matter how hard I try, my kids still prefer chocolate cheerios over most anything I try to feed them.

Another day where she randomly fell asleep, growth spurt maybe?

If you've never tried these you need to find a Trader Joe's now and go buy them.

Attended the infamous Harvard vs. Yale FB game...also known as "The Game".  Had a great time with friends and froze our tushies off!

Andy caught Noah and Clare playing with the Ipad one evening (I was gone visiting a friend).  I love to see them like this!  Little buddies!

Even though Clare's little sassy attitude has been making a more frequent appearance, she really is the sweetest thing!  Her favorite word these days is, "NO" and I try to remind Andy not to encourage her in saying it.  Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite us! haha

My Sunday afternoon nap was glorious!! Here's proof.

Cambridge Fire Station

Last week, for our Crimson Kids field trip, we had the opportunity to go visit the Cambridge Fire Station.  When I heard about this field trip I knew it was one that we would be going on.  The firefighters were so nice and we learned a lot.  The kids all got their very own fire hats and also got to 'drive' the trucks as well.  It was interesting learning about the different trucks and how they operate.

Clare wasn't as interested in the trucks as Noah was, but she was a good sport.  She sure is a cutie (and you can finally see her hair coming in)!

A little family pic!

Pictures of The Week

I finally downloaded pictures from mine and Andy's cell phone.  Forgive me if this post is extra long!

This sleepy face was the afternoon just after daylight savings.  She was one tired girl!

Had a random snow storm,  I kind of loved it.  Unfortunately it only lasted a day or so.  But I'm not complaining about the sunny weather either! :)

Noah got bored while sitting on the potty....

A little blurry, but Clare came up with this outfit all by herself.  Noah's hat, a bib, her favorite skirt and mommy socks.  What a fashionista!

Clare's poop in the bathtub.  Disgusting.

She will literally climb on everything.

Even though the election didn't go the way I'd hoped, I am still honored and grateful that I live in a free country where I can vote!

As soon as I take her out of her highchair this is what she does...refastens the buckles!

Riding his bike during the snow storm!

Part of Noah's artwork from preschool.  It certainly doesn't include everyone on there, but I though it was cute!

Pretty normal scene at our house during dinner time, Clare eats everything and Noah refuses to!

I heard Clare wining in the kids room and came in to find her like this, stuck in the drum.  She tried several times to get our on her own but couldn't quite do it!  Mommy to the rescue!

This is what happens when I try to get my kids to snuggle with me in the wee morning hours (when they should be sleeping).  They crawl all over me instead.  Or read a book (upside down at that)!

I get to walk by this beautiful building on my way home from the gym.  Certainly isn't bad to look at!
