Halloween in Boston was great. We were all wondering if we'd even have a chance to celebrate, due to Hurricane Sandy, but thankfully we were able to still enjoy ourselves! Halloween has never been my favorite holiday. I know, right? What's not to like about getting free candy? It's the dressing up part that has never really appealed to me. I would rather focus my efforts on Christmas...but I, of course, want to make it fun for my kids!
Noah was so excited about Halloween this year. He still have a little candy left and frequently asks if he can pick out a piece of candy. Living on campus and in an apartment doesn't really present a lot of trick or treating opportunities, so most of the families go off campus to find their goodies. The night before Halloween we had a Halloween/chili cook-off party at the Church. I actually won
the award for Best White Chili. I was excited/surprised! The kids really enjoyed it too.
If you're having a hard time telling, Clare was a pumpkin this year (haha) and Noah was TinTin.
On Halloween day went to a party held by the Crimson Kids club here on campus. We started out on a little parade and made our way to a couple spots on campus were Staff here at HBS were handing out candy.
Daddy got to break away from some of his school work to join us for the parade and party.
The kids actually made off with a decent amount of candy from our stops around campus. Later, we headed over to one of the common rooms here on campus and continued the party with our friends. We had food, games, treats and even some stuff to take home. The kids had a great time. I had hoped to take the kids trick our treating even more, but because of Andy's crazy school schedule I would have had to take them alone. I know Noah would have liked it for a bit, but I doubt Clare would have appreciated it at all. We decided to take the candy we had (which has certainly lasted us) and next year we will go out as a family! Hopefully since both kids will be a little older then they will both enjoy it!
